POTENTIAL BLOG STARTER
for "How to Encourage Speech and Communication Development from Birth" (See FUTURE BLOG IDEAS)

Speech is one of the most refined fine motor functions in the body, and we are often judged by our speaking abilities. When a baby is born, the mouth moves basically as a unit (the jaw, lips, and tongue move together)... During the first three years of life, your child learns to move the mouth in a very sophisticated manner in order to produce speech... However, if the parts of your child's mouth do not learn to move independently from one another with appropriate awareness, skill, and direction of movement, your child's speech may be delayed.
