DIANE BAHR OF AGES AND STAGES®, LLC

Diane Bahr, MS, CCC-SLP, CIMI is a certified speech-language pathologist and infant massage instructor in private practice. She has practiced speech-language pathology since 1980 and has been a feeding therapist since 1983. Her experiences include teaching graduate, undergraduate, and continuing education courses; working with children and adults who exhibit a variety of speech, language, feeding, and swallowing disorders; and publishing/presenting (e.g., AACPDM, 2011) information on oral sensory-motor function, assessment, and treatment. She co-owns Ages and Stages®, LLC. She is also the author of the textbook Oral Motor Assessment and Treatment: Ages and Stages (Allyn & Bacon, 2001) and a parent book entitled Nobody Ever Told Me (or My Mother) That! Everything from Bottles and Breathing to Healthy Speech Development (Sensory World/Future Horizons, 2010).

August 1995 - June 2001: Clinical Specialist/Administrator; Loyola College in Maryland. Supervised graduate students. Administered oral motor clinical program (i.e., assessment and treatment of feeding, motor speech, and mouth dysfunction). Taught courses on oral motor disorders, augmentative communication, neurology, and adult communication disorders.

July 1993 - August 1995: Adjunct Faculty Member in Speech-Language Pathology and Education Departments: Loyola College in Maryland. Taught courses on language development, oral motor disorders (i.e., feeding, motor speech, and mouth dysfunction), augmentative communication, neurology, and adult communication disorders.

Nov. 1994 - June 1995: Part-time Speech-Language Pathologist; Baltimore County Public Schools; Baltimore, Maryland. Evaluated and treated elementary age children who exhibited a variety of communication and learning disorders.

Dec. 1993 - Nov. 1994: Speech-Language Outreach Consultant; The Maryland School for the Blind; Baltimore, Maryland. Provided statewide consultation to local education agencies in the state of Maryland serving individuals with visual impairment and multiple disabilities ages birth to 21 years.

Feb. 1992 - Nov. 1993: Acting Senior Speech-Language Pathologist; The Maryland General - Bryn Mawr Rehab Center; Baltimore, Maryland. Assessed and treated adults with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological impairments. Performed administrative duties as assigned.

Presents as many as fifteen to twenty workshops per year in the areas of feeding, motor speech, and mouth function both nationally and internationally to parents and professionals. Has presented hundreds of continuing education and other courses since 1989.
